A coursework project for a NTNU course called "Colour in Interface Design". This project was especially dear to me, as it allowed me to do school project related to disc golf. The local disc golf course was also lacking a proper course map, which is why I used color theory and infographic best practices to design a new, effective map for the course.
I updated the map after the project, as the course itself had seen some changes. Some additional information such as out-of-bounds lines and drop zones were also added, as well as some additional text requested by the local disc golf club. The map was also improved aesthetically.
This is what the course map looked before the project.
First prototype of the illustrated map. Graphics were crude at this point, but the information it contained was similar to the satellite map.
This is the finished illustration which was experimented with users in the end of the project.
The updated map in September 2017. A version without the OB lines, mandos, and drop zones also exists.
